On the Job Training

On-the-job- Training:  New Oregon Green Tech Graduates

How It Works:

  • COIC provides the trainees’ resumes - the employer makes the hiring decision.
  • Trainee completes training plan (one to 3 months , 30+ hours per week).
  • COIC partially reimburses up to 50% of training wages.
  • Trainee continues working as a full-time employee(30+ hours per week).

Plus:

  • Prompt payments with a minimum of paperwork.
  • Trained staff to assist you through all phases of the OJT.
  • An opportunity to train employees your way.

Additional Info:

  • The written contract must be signed prior to the first day of work.
  • Job openings and employees must meet eligibility requirements.
  • Position cannot be part-time (< 30 hours per week), temporary, seasonal (note: some seasonal jobs may have short lay-off periods and may be acceptable).
  • Principal method of payment cannot be commission or piecework.
  • Position requires training beyond a brief period of orientation.
  • A  license or other certification requiring institutional training is not necessary.
