POSITION SUMMARY: Provide safe and efficient transportation services for Central Oregon public transportation passengers.  As the initial contact with the public, Drivers must be courteous and professional and be able to represent COIC in a manner that will maintain and promote the positive reputation of the organization. Drivers must be capable of dealing with a wide range of personalities, physical abilities and passenger situations. Must treat passengers with respect and understanding. Drivers will assure safety for themselves and passengers at all times. Drivers will assist in reporting, training, and quality assurance activities. Drivers are responsible for ticket inventory and the accurate recording of vehicle, passenger and other data.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma, GED or equivalent

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:  This is a non-exempt hourly position.  Depending on experience, the starting hourly rate of pay will be $16.00 an hour. High Deductible Health Insurance includes dental and vision coverage for employee and dependents.

COIC/Cascades East Transit is recruiting for drivers to operate the Cascades East Transit buses driving the Mt. Bachelor (“Route 18”) during the 2018-2019 Ski Season from approximately November 22, 2018, through May 15, 2019. These are hourly, part-time, split shifts that provide daily bus service to and from, or around Mt Bachelor, between the hours of 6:00 a.m.to 6:00 p.m.

Position Summary:  Driving bus to and from, or around Mt. Bachelor.  Great opportunity if you are looking for a work/play balance and have a passion for winter recreation!  “Route 18” runs daily throughout the ski season, picking up riders at designated location(s) in Bend to the mountain and back. These are split shift positions and drivers may be subject to staying on the mountain for as long as five hours without pay before he/she starts their next shift. There is opportunity to ski or snowboard for free during this time if you so choose. Or, if you have an interest to work on the mountain during your down times, please visit the Mt. COIC also provides a “Driver-in-Training” position at Grade 1, $14.00 an hour to obtain your CDL. After successful completion of all necessary requirements as listed above, the Driver-in-Training will be placed in a CET Bus Driver position at Grade 3, $16.00 an hour.
